Epson’s Return for Repair (Extended Depot) Warranty is a service program designed to provide you with continued repair coverage for one year beyond the standard one-year warranty period (for example, selecting “2-Year Return for Repair Warranty – EPPCWC6500R1” will extend the warranty period by one additional year for a total of 2 years of warranty coverage). Return for Repair service covers failures due to defects in materials and workmanship during the term of the agreement. No renewal of extended service is available after expiration of your fifth-year plan or if your current plan expires.

Epson’s Spare-In-The-Air printer exchange program is an extremely affordable service solution for companies that cannot afford to have their systems out of service for longer than 24 hours. This quick, overnight replacement warranty program bridges the gap between the turn-around time of depot repair and the higher cost of on-site service. Make one phone call to Epson and a replacement* unit is express shipped overnight to arrive the next day. Then just return the damaged unit to Epson. It’s that easy. And shipping both ways is paid for by Epson. No renewal of extended service is available after expiration of your fifth-year plan or if your current plan expires.

*The replacement product or parts may be new or refurbished to the Epson standard of quality.

Details
By default, a standard one-year limited depot repair warranty is included with the purchase of the Epson ColorWorks C6500 series label printers. Epson’s On-Site Repair Service Warranty replaces the standard one-year limited depot repair warranty and provides on-site service repair (typically within 24 hours) nearly anywhere within the United States and Canada. You must purchase at least a one-year upgrade any time during the first 30 days of the limited warranty period to get on-site repair services for the Epson ColorWorks C6500 series label printers. You may purchase up five years of on-site repair service. Each On-Site Repair Service Warranty can be purchased with the printer or while a previous service plan is still in effect. No renewal of extended service is available after expiration of your fifth-year plan or if your current plan expires.

What’s in the Box

Helpful Tip: Epson states that when using the printer for the first time, the replacement interval for the maintenance box is shorter than usual as ink charging consumes the ink. This is why Texas Label Printers recommends that customers also purchase an additional maintenance box and an additional set of ink cartridges at the time of purchase.

  1. Rachel D

We’ve had our printer for over two years now and have printed 10s of thousands of labels with no issues. The team are always responsive if we have questions and our orders get here in a timely manner. Overall great product, great service, would recommend to anyone.

  2. Mark M

Overall printer works well, however it’s worthwhile to keep an eye on print alignment. Specifically when printing smaller labels using fine print. Also if you would like to save on ink try not to turn the printer off too often because every time you do that it will perform maintenance and by doing so it’ll collect ink in the maintenance box, which coincidentally will need to be replaced as soon as it’s filled.

    • Texas Label Printers LLC

      Mark,

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback regarding the product. Your review was discussed with our Technical Support team and with the manufacturer (Epson), and both are unfamiliar with the alignment issue you detailed with printing smaller labels using fine print. You did not mention this issue during your recent phone conversation with our technician. Our team will reach out to you to address this issue, as we suspect there may be other factors involved.

On a separate note, your observation about the maintenance box filling up quickly is indeed correct. The C6000 and C6500 series both experience this more so than other models in the Epson ColorWorks series. Please note that the maintenance box is designed as a cost-effective, consumable part, similar to the ink cartridges.

Again, thank you for taking the time to share your experience with using this printer, and we look forward to assisting you further.

I purchased the Epson ColorWorks C6500A Label Printer for my company that has a huge amount of labels to be printed everyday. As I was using a laser printer, the labels scratched really easy. This new Epson is my new best friend. I have printed about 2000 labels so far and 5 different variations. When I had a problem Ken was there to fix it and guide me in English. Which for me is a big deal as I am tone def and can’t hear other languages. It is a learning curve to learn the software driver but not overwhelming. Perfect for person like me that has tons of variations in label sizes!

I work for a MakerSpace at Rice University and we got this printer to make stickers with our logo and to label various chemicals. It was a bit of a learning curve at first but luckily I called Technical Support and spoke with Moses. He was so helpful and patient as he was walking me through the troubleshooting process! In addition, during my various trial and error sessions, the maintenance box’s service life ended. Since we needed these label’s fast for an event we are having this weekend, I was happy to find out that I could drive to their facility and pick one up! Moses and Stewart were so friendly and super helpful. I am so happy I chose Texas Label Printers and this printer!

Very satisfied with our new ColorWorks AU C6500au so far. Moses in tech support has been very diligent and thorough in making sure we get what we need when we need it.

My name is Lawrence and I approved this review!

  6. Robert D

I am new to Label Printing. I had many questions about how to get the printer going so I can print labels. I have no experience and was looking for help. My printer EPSON 6500 was purchased from Texas Label Printers, so I called them for support. I spoke with Mosses over the phone and he told me the I could come in and get a demo on how to operate the printer. I showed up the next day and was greeted and shown how to operate my printer by very knowledgeable staff. The guys, Kenneth, Mosses and one other person (sorry cant remember name) answered all my questions and gave me some ideas for getting label business. My confidence has gone up and I am really excited to get started in my new business! Thank you and I know support is there for me should I have any questions in the future.

  7. Heather T

We have owned this printer for about three months. We have printed 1000’s of labels using the original ink cartridge’s, I wish I could say the same for the maintenance box, it was filled within the first 500 labels I printed. It prints faster than I expected, but you do have considerable waste when changing label rolls because you have to adjust the printers positioning. Overall I am very pleased with it, happy with our purchase, and would recommend the printer to someone looking to print their own labels.

    • Texas Label Printers LLC

      Hi Heather,

Thank you for sharing your experience with using the printer! Please note that the behavior that you described regarding the maintenance box is normal. We have this noted on this product page that “Epson states that when using the printer for the first time, the replacement interval for the maintenance box is shorter than usual as ink charging consumes the ink. This is why Texas Label Printers recommends that customers also purchase an additional maintenance box and an additional set of ink cartridges at the time of purchase.”

  8. Steven H

I have 2 other printers from a different company and they are pretty good but when I first opened my new Epson 6500A 2 days ago and a rear mounted un – winder to support larger capacity rolls of all sizes. I was surprised both were separately boxed and the first thing I noticed they were so “solid” feeling with their metal casing’s and you could tell before even plugging it in it was constructed for heavy duty commercial use, my father had an old saying when I was a kid and picked up something to show him in some store, he would ask “Is it heavy”? if I said yes, he would say then it’s “expensive put down”! the 6500A weighs more than my other printers, because they are mostly plastic. But my new Epson blows both of them away in speed and less expensive supplies. VERY! happy with my new “workhorse” because it can run all day long with no effort.. Thanks guys!!

  9. Christal K

I recently got this printer for my company’s brand products. So, I had to order several custom labels. The machine automatically detect gaps between stickers, and the printing quality is fantastic. Stewart from TexasLabelPrinters has helped me a lot to install the printer through a phone call and remote control. This printer is definitely easy to install and use for a beginner. I highly recommend this.

  10. Kenneth D

Keeping it simple, the customer service is 5* for sure, in emails and phone quick responses. answered my questions to help me decide what to do. decided on this Epson C6500AU, setup and printed hundreds labels 1st day no issues! love this printer. it was a good addition to my other printers in my shop. very happy!

  11. Carolina A

We haven’t had the printer for very long so I can’t give a totally honest review there (but so far it prints great and fast), but the customer service was out of this world!!! As we all know, printers are not easy to work with but I had one of the support reps, Stewart, walk me through the issues I was having and so much more! He quickly helped me learn to print our labels and manage all the settings on the Driver as well as some pro-tips.

If you’re looking for a good place to get a printer with assistance included, you’re in the right place!

Not to mention our printer got delivered in just a few days during COVID-19!

  12. Gregg O

We got the printer just over a week ago and have printed almost 10,000 labels without any problems. The only thing better than theprinter is buying it from Texas Label. They do all the things businesses are supposed to do: They answer the phone. They actually call you back when you leave a message. The printer is awesome, the prices are great, and the service is beyond compare.
