Available Warranty Service Options

To guarantee the longevity of your printer, Texas Label Printers provides warranties from their respective manufacturers for all the label-printing and finishing equipment we sell. Below, you’ll find the three potential warranty options available. Please be aware that certain products might offer a subset of these options, rather than the full range.

Depot Warranty Service

Depot warranty service is the default standard warranty service type included with new printers and is performed by the manufacturer. With this service, customers are required to ship the faulty printer back to the manufacturer for repair service. Each manufacturer has different policies regarding depot warranty repair, but generally the shipping cost is the customer’s full or partial responsibility unless the repairs are done within the first 30 days of purchase. If the printer is still within its standard warranty period (or purchased extended depot warranty), then the repairs are typically done for free by the manufacturer as long as the customer pays for shipping. If the printer is out of warranty, then the customer is responsible for shipping both ways plus the cost of the repair. The customer may be without the use of the printer for 2-3 weeks or longer, which could be an issue for some customers that require the printer for production while the printer is being repaired.

Replacement Warranty Service

Replacement warranty service, often available as an upgrade to the standard depot warranty, is tailored to minimize disruptions for customers. If a printer issue arises that can’t be addressed remotely, the manufacturer promptly dispatches a replacement unit, typically through overnight shipping or priority freight based on the printer model. Once the customer receives the replacement, they’re expected to send the faulty unit back in the provided packaging within a set timeframe. Shipping costs for both the replacement and the return are usually covered by the service. This approach ensures swift turnarounds and minimal operational downtime. Notable examples of such warranties include Epson’s Spare-In-The-Air and Afinia’s Hot Swap.

On-Site Warranty Service

On-Site service warranties, available as an upgrade over standard depot warranties, provide users with direct, hands-on support for printer issues that can’t be addressed remotely. Should such an issue arise, a qualified technician — typically a third-party contracted by the manufacturer — will visit the user’s location to perform necessary repairs and maintenance. These warranties are generally available across nearly all zip codes in the contiguous United States. While service response times usually fall within 24 to 48 hours, the completion of the repair might extend over a few days, especially if specific replacement parts need to be ordered.

Please always review the terms and conditions for any warranty service prior to purchasing. For more detailed information, please review the “Details” tooltip next to each printer’s warranty option. Otherwise, please contact us with any questions you may have.
