Epson C8000 Gloss vs. Matte

The Epson ColorWorks C8000 series is available in both gloss and matte editions to accommodate diverse labeling needs. The Gloss Ink Edition (C31CL02A9991) uses Gloss Black Ink, ideal for printing on a wide variety of substrates, including glossy, plain, and matte finishes. The Matte Ink Edition (C31CL02A9981) uses Matte Black Ink, offering rich, sharp black text and images on matte, textured, and plain media. What’s in the Box

Helpful Tip: Epson states that when using the printer for the first time, the replacement interval for the maintenance box is shorter than usual as ink charging consumes the ink. This is why Texas Label Printers recommends that customers also purchase an additional maintenance box and an additional set of ink cartridges at the time of purchase.

Setting Up a Printer (CW-C8000 Series)

Important: This product is not eligible for return once the manufacturer’s original packaging has been opened, thus making it important that you review our return policy prior to purchasing. We recommend that all prospective buyers request free printed sample labels to ensure that the print quality of the labels printed by this printer meets their expectations. Products are still fully covered under the manufacturer’s warranty should there be an issue with the product itself.

2 Part of the ink from the first cartridges/packs is used for initializing the printer. Ink usage will vary considerably based on images printed, print settings, paper type, frequency of use, temperature and humidity. Variance may be more pronounced when printing infrequently or predominantly with one ink color. Ink is used for printing and printer maintenance, and all colors must be available for printing. For print quality, a variable amount of ink remains after the “replace ink” indicator comes on.
